New Year's resolution[新年新計劃] 

New Year's resolution is a commitment that an individual makes to one or more personal goals, projects, or the reforming of a habits [個人針對個人目標計劃或是改正一項(壞)習慣]. This lifestyle change is generally interpreted as advantageous [這個生活上的改變通常被解讀為正面有益的].

 

A New Year's Resolution is generally a goal someone sets out to accomplish in the coming year. Some examples include resolutions to donate to the poor more often, to become more assertive, or to become more environmentally responsible [常見的新年計劃有多捐錢給窮人、有決斷力一點或是對環境更負責一點(更環保一點)]. A key element to a New Years Resolution that sets it apart from other resolutions is that it is made in anticipation of the New Year, and new beginnings. [New Year's Resolution跟別的計劃不同的地方只是它通常是在新的一年開始]


同學們可以在Wikipedia的頁面上找到很多其他的資料,譬如說:

例: improve health, improve finances等

Success rate [成功率]:

Recent research shows that while 52% of participants in a resolution study were confident of success with their goals, only 12% actually achieved their goals. [最近研究顯示52%的參與者對於他們的目標有信心,但只有12%的人真的達成目標]

 

另外這裹也有個很棒的文章叫做13 bad habits you should break in 2016 to be more productive,讀了真是大大的給了我一記當頭棒喝。一天只有24小時,時間真的必須花得很有效率才行。

 

So, what are your New Year's resolutions?

回顧一下還沒有當媽以前里茲螞蟻的新年新希望是:

1. Go to bed before 2 am

2. Play the piano at least 15 min a day

3. No Facebooking on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday

4. Read 30 min for knowledge every day

5. Reflect my day before bedtime and write down what could've been done better

6. Go to the gym/or go jogging at least once a week

7. Email a friend every week

8. Keep track of my spending weekly

9. Have lunch or dinner with a friend at least twice a month

10. Read a book every month

11. Learn to cook a dish every month

12. Make sure nothing in my house is useless rubbish

 

當新手媽媽以後的新年新希望是(要生小孩的人快想清楚。人生可是再也不同了):

1. Be able to sleep more than five hours a night

2. Be able to watch television series at least once a week (never happened now!)

3. Exercise once a week (sigh)

That's all! 你看,只有三個!野心變這麼小了。。。

 

當媽一年半後以後的新年新希望是:

我希望2017年我的人生是精準、踏實以及專注的。

1. Exercise twice a week (過去一個月都有辦到喔)

2. Go to bed before 1.30am (這是全世界最難的事)

3. Only use Facebook an hour a day (錯,這才是全世界最難的事吧)

4. Never buy anything unnecessary (這我已經幾乎可以辦到了耶)

5. Don't be late!!! (我真的很恨自己不準時,我會檢討)

6. Cook on the weekends (不煮飯我就沒有理由買新鍋子啊啊啊)

7. Declutter every month (斷捨離已是我性格的一部份,需要的只是更好的的執行力)

8. Spend quality time with loved ones (現在的要求更高了,相處時不能碰手機電腦了)

9. Read a new book for my son every week (還要跟舊的輪流,所以一週一本不算少。我不喜歡多,比較喜歡精)

10. Do something (not computer/phone-based) I enjoy every day (這也太難了吧。我的嗜好太多了,而每個嗜好都是很耗時的事,例如candy crush、piano、workout、gardening、calligraphy、helping other people、reading English magazines、reading cook books、talking to a good friend on line、不過若真的沒時間,have a glass of wine、放空一下也不錯)

註:我的人生從未安排放空的時間。到了發呆亭我居然也真的發呆了。發呆的原因是因為我腦袋裹太多件事要同時運作了而一時不能決定要去思考哪一件事而發呆啊。現在想想每天是否要發呆十五分鐘比較健康?那十五分鐘要做什麼要請問一些有在做瑜伽、練內觀的同學了,就打座十五分鐘那樣可以安定腦部嗎?不然要做些什麼?那腦袋要想些什麼呢(后啊不就是叫你不要想事情,不然叫什麼發呆???)唉,我這過動的熟女連發呆都無法好好進行的。
